WHY WEAR ORGANIC?

Well...

We could quote you lots (and we mean LOTS) of scary statistics and frightening figures (and we really do mean SCARY and FRIGHTENING) about 'conventional' cotton production, like how it uses a third of the World's irrigation (polluting rivers in the process) and uses 25% of the World's insecticides and 10% of it's pesticides which can cause allergic reactions, headaches, nausea, asthma and even cancer for anyone unlucky enough to be exposed to them. On the other hand organic farming uses 50% less energy than conventional farming, and the cotton produced has longer fibres and is therefore more durable. It also hasn't absorbed any nasty chemicals.

So - why organic? Why NOT organic?!?

News Item number 1 - "About Us" 02/09/2009

OK, let's start off with who we are and what we're doing here.  We are a brand new T-shirt company (just what the World needs yeah?), but there's one difference, or maybe two, we're a T-shirt company set up by a couple of T-shirt enthusiasts who have been buying and selling T-shirts for about 5 years.  Basically, we know our eggs from our eggs.  And more importantly we know our tees from our tees, our ringers from our melange greys, our cotton from our lycra and our ethical from our "not-so-ethical".

There are some brilliant T-shirt companies out there, and there are some brilliant organic T-shirts our there, but we thought there was a little Earth Shirts gap in the market for a T-shirt company that sold cool, funny, geeky (but not too preachy) T-shirts that were organic, fair trade and ethically made.  None of our T-shirts were produced in sweat shop, they have all been certified as "Fair Trade" and they are printed in the UK by our good selves, and as much as it may sometimes feel like it, we're totally not exploited.

We hope you enjoy browsing through our T-shirts and hope you find something you may like.
